Will ‘Kick-Ass 2’ Kick Ass?

Kick-Ass 2, is something many fans of Kick-Ass have been wanting for since the ending of the first film was a cliff hanger. Even IMDB already has a page for the sequel, with a pretty bad ass title ‘Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.’ Even though there hasn’t been any information on the film yet, the title itself makes me feel excited. Around September 2011, Kick-Ass didn’t look like it was going to have a sequel since director Matthew Vaughn and co-writer Jane Goldman weren’t sure if they would be available to do a sequel.

For us fans our prayers have been heard, it was announced today that Mark Millar told The Daily Record “we shoot ‘Kick-Ass 2’ and ‘American Jesus’ this summer.” That was pretty much it, he didn’t give any other information on Kick-Ass but he talked about the premise of an American Jesus.

Millar said in a LA Times article that “Everybody involved suddenly got hired for a million different things, and re-forming the band again would be impossible.” It makes me feel a little worried for the film, will someone other than Matthew Vaughn direct Kick-Ass 2? Part of the success of the first film was part of his directing, he’s done other amazing work, for example ‘X-Men: First Class’ and he’s also going to be doing the sequel to ‘First Class.’

Now Jane Goldman hasn’t written anything for the script so far. She’s busy with ‘X-men: First Class’ and other projects. Unless they found someone else to write the sequel without anyone noticing, I don’t know how they can even start production during this summer.
I really don’t know how the sequel is going to turn out, since it looks like the original director and script writer won’t be in it this time. Hopefully it turns out well, since I loved the first.
