Possibly one of the greatest returns in the history of epicosity, Tenacious D makes there return to give us the rock we have craved and missed from this glorious duo of Gods of rock. Now in both the six minute comedy skit that features Jimmy Fallon, Josh Groban, Tim Robbins, Dave Grohl and Val Kilmer. In their song they admit how their movie ‘The Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny’ received negative feedback from critics and in general didn’t do too good in the box office. But Rize of the Fenix is not a movie, but an album.
The song titled Rize of the Fenix also released today along with the announcement; it does not bring any disappointment what so ever, Jack Black in my opinion has a pretty damn good voice and I enjoy him using the word “f*ck” it could even compare to my love of Samuel L. Jackson using the word “mother f*cker”. The song basically tells the story of how they fell off at a point and that a small chance of hope helped raised them from the ashes like a phoenix. I can’t stress how much I’m looking forward to this album, without a doubt I’m buying it.
The cover art of the album though has a phoenix on it of course but there’s something not quite right, in fact it looks like a penis…no joke. Which doesn’t surprise me, Tenacious D is just so awesome that they could easily sell an album with a penis as its cover art. It’s about time the world be stricken with the D once again, there is hope in this world now.
