Jay-Z hosted an event in London last night and the security was incredibly in force. Guests had to bring photo ID to enter and it didn’t matter who they were, because even for the biggest of stars, the security wouldn’t have even cared. If you didn’t have any valid ID on you, you were denied entry and the doors shut in your face.
The event was held after his “Watch the Throne” show and at the Dstrkt club in celebration of Jay’s manager Ty Ty’s 40th birthday. With these two rappers, three shows being completely sold, got the attention of many famous British artists; Cheryl Cole, members of JLS and One Direction, who also attended the party.
Jay-Z and Kanye even wore leather kilts on stage except Kanye apparently wasn’t wearing a tartan one, so the image of his masculinity might have been slightly destroyed for such a mistake.
Personally I think the security was just really stupid, I’m pretty sure that you can recognize the stars who attended the event perfectly fine from just a simple look at their faces and their entourage. This is a case of “look at me I’m famous and have a shit load of money”, plain and simple. Plus, I can’t understand why this birthday was made such a big deal of; it’s not like everyone knows who the hell Ty Ty is so why was it made to be so important? Honestly, I wouldn’t even give a damn to attend, even if for some miraculous reason I was invited.
