Personally I can’t decide if I like this song or not, which is very weird because we got great people on this track. DMX, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre produced the instrumental; now from just the artists on this I thought I’d love it.
I just didn’t think this slow type of instrumental suited the type of flow DMX used; it just didn’t do all that good to me. But this instrumental was perfect for Snoop on the hook, his soft voice just blended perfectly into it.
The instrumental was really slow paced and right off the bat you could tell it’d only suit a rapper with a softer voice, DMX has a very rough one and I just don’t think it was a great choice. I believe if he went with something a little faster and slightly up beat it would have been much better.
This song won’t be going on my iPod sadly, it just didn’t live up to the expectations I had for it. I’m questioning now if this new EP is going to be any good, but I’ll have to listen to it anyways, can’t give up the chance for more DMX. I hope the other songs show more promise, or else I don’t think this is going to even be worth even getting it for free, it really makes me feel bad to admit it.
