I’ve never been a fan of Amy Winehouse, but decided to do this music review anyway. I have to say that I don’t mind her on this song, I just don’t like the fact that her singing is really hard to understand. It’s like the words aren’t being spoken properly and it’s not only annoying but slightly confusing at times. Other than that, it’s an alright hook.
Nas really went all out on his verses, just incredible lyrics. My favorite was, “Strong communicator, vagabond, like…Round the Equator, and that would get me off the radar it’s so intense, I’m on my Lilo and Stitch.Pull my Peter grizzy on Christmas, and … is this an immaculate version of me and my baby, with all respecting you. That only wanna kiss me.”
There were the most amazing rhymes and Nas’ flow is dead on with the instrumental, which really went well with his voice. Like his voice, the instrumental is really smooth, the blending of the two was a real smart move.
Would I put this on my iPod? No, not because the song is bad or anything, you can tell I love it. But I just don’t like Amy Winehouse; something about her voice has always turned me off and that hasn’t changed. I like being able to understand what’s being said the first time, not the second or the third. But I have to say that Nas out did himself with this song, he had everything on point, he was really just amazing. You can listen to the song HERE.
