For those of you who don’t know, Kristen Stewart is rarely considered to be a style icon. Most often, she’s seen out and about in jeans, a grungy t-shirt, and super-straight greasy hair. I always hated her for it, but she’s explained the method behind the madness in a new interview, and I hate to say it, but I’ve forgiven her total lack of style and hygiene! Kristen is the face of Balenciaga‘s newest fragrance Florabotanica and made an appearance in Paris for their fashion show. She sat down to explain her feelings on their new collection, her style, and why she’s changing it.
After calling the new collection “sick” (which I took as a complement), she gave us the inside scoop on her own sense of style. “The reason you see me wearing simple clothes is because I don’t want to give [the paparazzi] anything. Literally, I go outside every day in the same thing, so they can’t say anything. So, it seems like I don’t put any thought into it, but I recently put all my stuff in one area and obsessively, OCD-style, arranged all of my stuff. Like such a girl!And you might be surprised, but I do have more than a white T-shirt and a pair of jeans; I actually have some cool stuff! And I think I’m going to start using it. As I get older, I get more comfortable, and I’m finding those things that define me. Before, it really was just a T-shirt and jeans, but now, it’s changing.”
Clever girl! I guess it makes sense–we can’t say she is heartbroken about the Robert Pattinson situation based on her grimy clothing and stick hair, because she always looks that way! On the flip side, if she always looked fabulous, the same would be true. I mean, there are people you can hire to dress and beautify right? I’m sure Kim Kardashian could recommend someone. Kristen also admitted that her best beauty secret is dry shampoo, and I have to wonder–is there a shortage? Has she not been able to get any since her affair?
