I think by now just about everyone is familiar with John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars. If you weren’t a fan of the book then you probably fell in love with the film adaptation that has made a killing at the box office since its’ June 6th release. Fans of Green’s work will be thrilled to hear that another of his books, Paper Towns has already been commissioned by FOX.
Not only will Paper Towns be making its’ way to the big screen but it will also use the same team that brought TFIOS to live. Screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber are writing the script, and Wyck Godfrey is returning to produce. This time out Green will executive produce – something he did not do with Fault. In case you haven’t already gotten your hands on the book, Paper Towns is about Quentin, a young man who shared a jarring experience with his neighbor Margo: They found a man who committed suicide. Quentin and Margo grew apart, but one night he finds her at his bedroom window, dressed like a ninja. She enlists him in a campaign to get revenge on people who’ve hurt her. Next day, she vanishes as he is left to ponder the ramifications of the evening. Then he begins getting clues from her and has to follow them. The craziness unfolds from there in a way that only Green can describe it.
Nate Wolff, who portrayed Isaac in TFIOS is cast as Quentin and the whole film will be built around his portrayal as Green’s lead character. Are you glad to hear that another John Green film is in the works? For those of you that have already read Paper Towns, do you think that Wolff is a good choice to portray Quentin?
