Kendall Jenner doesn’t want to be only known for appearing on a reality show with the rest of her family. She wants everyone to know that she didn’t just turn up on the catwalk one day because the gig was handed to her. Instead she feels that she has had to work much harder to be taken seriously and it wasn’t until a Marc Jacobs show last February that Kendall felt like she was respected in the fashion world.
Not only does 18-year old Kendall get to model the hottest clothes but she also is celebrating another milestone- landing on the cover of Teen Vogue for the first time with their September issue. The interview with Kendall is entitled “Life as Fashion’s New It Girl” and readers get an up close view of the young breakout stars’ life right now. While big step-sister Kim Kardashian used to be the family member clocking the most miles Kendall is sure giving her a run for the frequent flier miles.
“I don’t have a romantic life at the moment, so traveling doesn’t bother me at all, but I do want to go home. When I was young, I was the kid who would call my dad from a slumber party to beg him to come pick me up.”
Kendall may be modeling the hottest clothes by Armani and Marc Jacobs but at the end of the day she’s just like every other 18-year old. Okay, maybe she has a lot more cash, but she still needs her family, friends and to feel the comfort that home brings. Do you think that Kendall’s career is really on the rise here? Will she keep gaining ground in the modeling world and establish herself as a power house young Hollywood force to be reckoned with? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
