Right away the episode starts off with Wadatsumi pulling the Flying Dutchman and we meet the captain of the Flying Pirates, Vander Decken. He looks really weird, he’s got a cat fish like face, webbed hands and even four legs. Also, he’s pretty obsessed with the Mermaid Princess, to the point where he will kill her if he can’t have her. A little creepy, yet he’s got a cool ability where whatever he throws will fly at its target not matter the distance kind of like a heat seeking rocket. So Decken throwsan axe that flies into Shirahoshi’s room, and Luffy just catches it and throws it away. Honestly that looks like an ability that would be incredibly useful and deadly, one of my favourite new abilities shown yet.
So now we’ve got the guards going around looking for the Straw Hats since Madame Shirley’s prediction of Luffy destroying Fishman Island is a threat, and he’s being blamed for the missing mermaids that Caribou captured before. But I just loved how they already captured Zoro simply because when he arrived to the palace he just drank alcohol, got drunk and they just locked him up.
One of my favourite parts of this episode is when Shirahoshi is talking to Luffy and he’s just eating all of her food and he has it all stuffed in his mouth like a chipmunk. So Shirahoshi pokes his face and he spits it all out and yells at her, which makes her cry even more.
I’ve got to say the last couple of minutes of this episode’s pretty awesome, Usopp, Brook and Nami all resist the arrest and fight back against the guards. But Usopp has changed a lot, in the past he would have run away screaming and now he’s the one doing all the talking and encouraging the guards to fight him. Then we got Neptune about to launch his attack at the three and there we have Zoro flying out of nowhere blocking the attack, which was completely badass.
Then we got the episode ending with Hody Jones and Vander Decken meeting up together and actually forming an alliance, which leaves me with saying that this episode was just awesome. I’m getting so excited for the next episode to see what happens between Neptune and the four Straw Hats there!
