Season 4 of Vampire Diaries is exactly three short weeks away, and we are grappling for any bits of gossip because the wait is a fate worse than death! Ian Somerhalder recently tweeted a sneak peak: a picture of him biting Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas‘s medal! The on-set picture has confirmed rumours: Gabby is joining Vampire Diaries as a guest! The young Olympian has been all over the place, making guest appearances at the MTV VMAs, Ellen, The Colbert Report, and America’s Got Talent. Well, she is adding acting to her resume and joining our favorite undead threesome in Mystic Falls!
Last season completely changed the show: we learned about original vampires, the curse of the sun and moon, and, most importantly, Damon finally told Elena (Nina Dobrev) that he loves her! Stefan (Paul Wesley) went on a murdering rampage…they were good times. The season finale was a total cliff hanger (spoiler free zone ahead, don’t worry!) but we know from teaser commercials that Elena will wake up dead, and the official synopsis of episode 1 promises that Stefan and Bonnie are going to help her in any way they can!
The new season premiers on Thursday, October 11th on the CW. We have no word yet on who Gabby will play, but my guess is she’ll be one of the vampires or witches that are always passing through! Hopefully a vampire with the super human ability to do complicated flips while standing on a suspended beam in an abandoned warehouse? It could happen!
